Built in Canada by Atlas Manufacturing, our Mole Rat limited access drill is capable of drilling attached to a mini-excavator, mini-skid-steer, or full sized skid-steer loader. It can also be detached and operated remotely, inside buildings with an 8' ceiling height.
With 2500 ft/lbs of rotary torque, and 7350lbs of retract force, the Mole Rat can be used for SSA, HSA, ODEX, Mud Rotary, and Rock Coring methodologies in a variety of limited access conditions
In the mid 1950's, the iconic Winkie drill was conceived and manufactured by Canadian mining legend Fred Wink. This innovative machine was revolutionary at the time and proved itself worldwide. Over the decades, the Winkie drill's popularity has tapered off, primarily due to the fact that they were only designed to drill with conventional tooling, hindering perfomance by modern standards. The light weight, durability, small footprint, and portability of this machine remains unparalleled to this day.
Upon a client's request, we were thrilled to revive the Winkie drill to make it perform to modern standards, and then some. It was unitized on a lightweight aluminum take-down platform, to be moved by ATV, helicopter, or by hand, with provisions for effective anchoring, outfitted with a hydraulic rotation motor, and tooled up with an AQTK wireline coring system, running BTW casing through overburden. This machine has achieved depths of 130m AQTK, on a -60 degree inclination. It is reliable, cost effective, and productive.
If you wish to utilize a Winkie drill on your project, or if you own a Winkie drill and would like to make it perform to modern standards, don't hesitate to give us a call. We're the experts you can rely on.
